Time to decorate the kids' room

It seems our kids' rooms are forever changing as the grow older. Searching for new and creative ways to decorate their room can be exhausting...and expensive. As you all know by now I'm a huge fan of Houzz.com. This weeks email included the following article discussing ideas for a hip and creative kids room http://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/19396642?utm_source=Houzz&utm_campaign=u385&utm_medium=email&utm_content=gallery25.

The article has many great ideas that can help a child's room stand the test of time. Here are a few pics and tips I wanted to share:

The standard black and white is a great idea for a timeless room. You can change the accent color easily with little expense.

I love the thought of keeping clean, white lines and using the toys for color and decor. It creates a creative and useful space.

I thought this was incredibly clever. It's an adorable lost and found box for puzzles and games.

Using picture shelves to display books. It makes it easier for the kids to view the books and it provides decor that's also functional.

There are so many ways to use chalkboard paint but I absolutely loved how they used it on this dresser, so cute!
