Before I became a Real Estate Agent I was on Zillow all the time checking to see what my home might be worth or other homes in my area using their Zestimate feature. When I first started looking at it I wasn't sure of it's accuracy but once I became more interested in real estate I started to learn you couldn't rely on the Zillow Zestimate. At times that was a good thing because my house would have a Zestimate for far less than I had hoped.
When I moved into a new home I realized how off the Zestimate can be. The Zestimate for my new home was coming up $200,000 less than the houses around me! It turned out Zillow had my square footage listed 600 square feet below what it actually was. Recently, I went to list a home and the homeowners had reviewed their Zestimate to learn Zillow showed their house having 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms when really it had 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
I'm definitely not trying to bash on Zillow as I do think it's an interesting website to look at and to view different areas. After doing some research it turns out the accuracy of your Zestimate has to do with the city in which you live. I've attached a link to an article from Zillow that explains the Zestimate and shows how accurate the Zestimate is compared to home sales by city. I thought it was an interesting read. Here's the link to check it out.

As I always I would be more than happy to give you an estimate of the value of your home based upon comparable homes that have sold in your area.
Happy Friday!
